Oliver Dale Rhoads

Oliver Dale Rhoads, 80, of Sedalia, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022, at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, MO. On July 30, 1941, he was born in Pettis County, MO, the son of Oliver Harrison Rhoads and Wilma (Phillips) Rhoads, who preceded him in death.

On September 7, 1963, in Florence, MO, he was united in marriage to Carolyn Crider, who resides in the home.

Dale was a hard worker and loyal employee, working 40 plus years as a Delivery Truck Driver for Shyrack Wright Grocery, Sedalia Fruit/Janitorial Supply, and retired from Smith Paper and Janitorial in 2006. Dale enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing pool when he was younger. Later on, he enjoyed riding horses, going on trail rides with the State Fair Saddle Club, and around the neighborhood with very good friends. Dale was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed watching westerns on TV.

Along with his wife, he is survived by three sons, Jeffrey Dale Rhoads, Steven Wayne Rhoads, both of Sedalia, and Clint Allen Rhoads (Lisa) of Lexington, MO; a brother, Gerald R. Rhoads of Sedalia; a sister, Mary E. Schroeder (Donnie) of Hughesville, MO; two grandchildren Nicole Gunter (Dyllen) and Michael Lewis.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2022, at Rea Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Robert Sisney officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral chapel from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2022.

Burial will be at Hopewell Cemetery, Sedalia, MO.

Pallbearers will be Dale J. Rhoads, Frank L. Mahalovich, Chris Rhoads, Michael Stevens, Donnie Schroeder, and Richard Streff.

Honorary bearers will be Larry Ramey, Roy Rhoads, Robbie Ramey, and Pete Phillips.

Family and friends may make memorial contributions to the Sedalia Animal Shelter, the Dream Factory, or the American Cancer Society in the care of the funeral home.
