Olga Dzekunova

Olga Mitrofanovna Dzekunova, born on August 9, 1930 in the village of Penkovka, Ukraine, to the family of Mitrofan and Anna.

Early in the morning at dawn, on September 5, 2021, at her home in Sedalia, MO, at the age of 92, she departed for eternity to the Lord.

Her childhood and adolescence were spent in cramped circumstances in difficult times, orphanhood, deprivation, separation, hunger, war, cold, but from childhood she loved the Lord and sang with her mother in an Orthodox choir, prayed, played the guitar. In 1948, she married Nikifor Illarionovich, a musician who played the accordion very beautifully. They treasured their life together, gave birth to two beautiful children - Diana and Alexander. In 1950, she believed and became a member of the local church, and immediately faced a choice. The husband knew that Christians were one of the victims of the Soviet regime in the post-war period. They were arrested, deported and sentenced to forced labor camps in Siberia. He was not ready for this, and left his wife, with two small children, a daughter of 2 years old and a newborn son. In January 1951, at 21 years old, she was left alone, cold, hungry, without any help, support, comfort, or luxury, but the Lord was faithful and never left her children. I saw the deeds and miracles of Christ, like the sun, radiated life-giving rays of warmth and light during the days of her earthly life. He constantly did deeds of love, kindness, mercy, sometimes taking the form of miracles that surpass the earthly "laws" familiar to us.

In 1990, with children and grandchildren, she emigrated to America, to the state of Washington. In1999-2021 she moved and lived a fulfilling life, loving and caring until her last breath, seeing 5 generations of her legacy in Sedalia, Missouri.

The redeemer will return. I, grandmother Olya, testify that Christ will return, but not at all like at His First Coming. He will come with power and glory, surrounded by the righteous and faithful saints. He will come as King of Kings and Lord of Lords, as the Prince of Peace, the promised Messiah, Savior and Redeemer to judge the living and the dead. I love Him and serve Him with all my heart, and I pray that all my relatives serve and glorify Jesus Christ with joy and devotion and remain faithful to Him to the end.
