Obituary For Norman Twyman

Norman Gibbs Twyman, 70, of Sedalia passed away March 4, 2014 at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia. He was born on July 30, 1943 at home on the family farm in Florence, MO a son of Henry E. and Zola (Sanders) Twyman.

He was baptized on April 12, 1959 by Rev. Woods at Bethany Baptist Church. He was confirmed on April 9, 1972 by Pastor Gary Clayton at Trinity Lutheran Church, Cole Camp.

On March 7, 1969 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Sedalia he was united in marriage to Marian Luetjen of Sedalia by Pastor Melvin Geffert. After their marriage they lived in Sedalia for a short while, then moved to Cole Camp and returned to Sedalia in 1972.

He attended school in Syracuse and Tipton, MO. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Sedalia. Norman’s early working years were spent doing mechanical work. In 1973, he went to work at Consumers Grocery and remained until their closing in 1993. He then went to work at Walmart in their produce department. In 2007 his health failed and resulted in retirement. His likes were working on cars, hunting with his metal detector, watching Nascar races and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Marian of the home; three children, Timothy and his wife Diana of Ventura, CA, Angela Brosch of Blue Springs, MO and Amber Nerad and her husband Daren of Sedalia; five grandchildren, T.J. Lacey Twyman, Lauren Brosch, Hayden Brosch, Caleb Nerad and Kendall Nerad; three brothers, Leroy Twyman and his wife Lucy of Sedalia, Bobby Twyman and his wife Vicky of Versailles, MO and Teddy Twyman and his wife Sharon of Sedalia; one sister, Jean Pummill and her husband Carl of Sedalia and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Donald and John Twyman; and one sister, Dora Lee Phillips.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, March 10, 2014 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Sedalia with Rev Jeremy Freeman officiating.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:30 pm, Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia. Prayer service will be at 7:00 pm.

Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Cole Camp, MO.

Friends can call at the funeral chapel after 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2014.

Pallbearers will be Chris Oelrichs, Brian Oelrichs, Brian Heimsoth, Johnnie Twyman, Terry Pummill and Glen Webb.

Honorary bearers will be grandchildren, Lauren Brosch, Hayden Brosch, Caleb Nerad, Kendall Nerad and TJ. Lacey Twyman.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Sedalia.
