Obituary For Norma Jean Long

Norma Jean Long, 83, of Sedalia, MO passed away Sunday, September 27, 2020, surrounded by her family at her home. She was born on May 15, 1937, in Sedalia, the daughter of Russell James Jeffries and Frances (Newton) Jeffries, who preceded her in death.

On June 30, 1957, in Sedalia, MO, Norma was united in marriage to Walter Lee Long, who resides in the home.

Norma was a long time member of Flat Creek Baptist Church. She worked as the office manager for Midland Printing and Office Supply. After retirement, she worked for The Accounting Office for many years during tax season. She was well known for her homemade noodles and her strawberry pies. Norma had a great love for her family. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Kevin Long and his wife Kristy of Smithton; a brother, Russell Wallace "Wally" Jeffries and his wife Darlene of Olathe, KS; two grandchildren, Amanda Long Wilkens and her husband Robert of Springfield, MO and Kolten Long of Smithton; and a great-granddaughter, Joanna Wilkens.

Rea Funeral Chapel will hold a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at Flat Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Boatman officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.

Burial will be at Flat Creek Baptist Cemetery, Sedalia, MO.

Pallbearers will be Rudy Messerli, Paul Anderson, Allen Spratley, Duane Schroder, Dick Klein, Stanley Bohon.

Friends and family may make memorial contributions to the Flat Baptist Church Cemetery fund in care of the funeral chapel.
