Nancy Moore

Nancy Moore, 90, of Sedalia, passed away at Bothwell Regional Health Center, on Saturday, April 11, 2015. She was born May 10, 1924, in Greenwood, MS, daughter and third sibling of twelve children of Burl and Harriett Jones, who preceded her in death. She moved to St. Louis, MO, in 1942 where she worked for the State of Missouri Department of Social Service in daycare from January 1, 1989 to December 31, 1990. Nancy joined Greater Bethlehem Church, St Louis, MO, where she was a faithful member for over 50 years. She worked in the nurses unit and other organizations until ill health came upon her, when she moved to Sedalia, MO in 2005. She was united in marriage to Master Sergeant Simie Moore, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by ten of her siblings; Fannie Steele, Sally Rice, Roberta Hankins, Will Arthur Jones of Chicago, IL, Pearl (Sylvester) Clay of Warrensburg, MO, Burl Jones, Jr. of Sedalia, MO, Clarence Jones of Inglewood, CA, Lawyer Jones of Los Angeles, CA, Leroy (Wilma) Jones of St. Louis, MO, and Georgia Mae Jones, who passed away in infancy. Nancy is survived by her daughter, Vernice (Isaac) Jordan; one brother, Walter Jones of Los Angeles, CA; 7 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; 3 great great great grandchildren; and host of relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, April 17, 2015 at Ward Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, located at the corner of Pettis and Osage in Sedalia, with Rev. John Williams officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:30 pm, until service time. Interment will be held at a later date. Pallbearers will be George Bradford, Gary Cline, Tavares Black, Wardell Bentley, Jesse Miller, and Domanick Bradford. Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, MO.
