Mina Louise Williams

Mina Louise Williams, 86, of Sedalia, MO passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022, at Bothwell Regional Health Center. She was born September 5, 1935, in Sedalia, the daughter of Arthur C. Kroeger and Gladys M. (Rice) Kroeger who preceded her in death.

As a small girl she loved helping with everything, whether it was outdoor chores, indoor cooking and cleaning or helping with her younger siblings. At the age of 16 she went to work at Crown Drug as a waitress at the lunch counter. It was there she met the love of her life, Billy Gene Williams and on Christmas Eve, 1953, they were married at Goodwill Chapel Methodist Church. They were married for 45 years. Billy preceded her in death on May 25, 1998.

That union was blessed with three children, Melinda Sue (Williams) Todd, David Gene Williams, and Billy Dale Williams and his wife Wendy; six grandchildren, Jerry (Missy) Todd, Carrie (Todd) Galloway, Mark Todd, David Williams, Jr, Briana Williams, and Braden Williams; two step grandchildren, Zack and Kyle Wissman; ten great grandchildren, Easter Raine Galloway, Gavin Galloway, LA'Kaylnn Galloway, Dreamyona Staten, Jaylan Todd, Seth Williams, Maddie Wissman, Zayne Wissman, Karley Wissman, Edward Wissman; three great great grandchildren, Luna Todd, Krymsyn Todd, and Midas Galloway; two sisters, Joyce Bass of Sedalia and Patsy (Mike) Harrison of Sedalia; a sister-in-law, Patty Kroeger of Smithton and many nieces and nephews.

Mina attended and graduated from Striped College Elementary school and was a 1953 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. She was a life member of Goodwill Chapel United Methodist Church. She chose for her career working for Southwestern Bell for 45 years, first as a switchboard operator and then as a customer Service Representative, transferring to Springfield in 1982 when the Sedalia office closed. She retired in 1998.

Her hobbies included crocheting, working crossword puzzles, watching Game Network on TV, and finding bargains at garage sales. She especially loved getting together with her family, and looked forward to her "nightly" as she called it (phone conversation) with her sister, Joyce, every night between 10:30 and 12:00 p.m.

She was an amazing, remarkable woman, strong in her Christian faith. She was always willing to help others. She loved giving, putting others first before herself and practiced endless forgiveness (Matthew 18:21-22). Her legacy she leaves to her children and extended family is kindness, caring, and love--to stay close and live according to God's Word.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Melinda Todd; a brother, Arthur C Kroeger, Jr.; and two sisters, Edna Abney and Norma Gayle Collier.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Pastor Vonda Veale officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Family requests mask to be worn during services.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Sedalia.

Pallbearers will be Matt Kroeger, Donald Paul Bockelman, Zach Wissman, Kyle Wissman, Ashton Pullis and Chris Abney. Honorary Bearer will be Jerry Joe Todd.

Memorials are suggested to Goodwill Chapel United Methodist Church in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
