Obituary For Milton D. Banks

Milton D. Banks, 69, of Sedalia passed away Monday, August 2, 2021, at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia, MO. He was born on January 17, 1952, in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of James Banks and Hattie I. (Fishman) Banks, who preceded him in death.

Milton served his country honorably in the United States Air Force as a Fire Protocol Specialist during the Vietnam era. He was a self employed Tradesman specializing in locksmithing and home improvement and repair. Milton enjoyed swimming, reading Marvel comic books and watching Marvel movies. He loved to laugh and often joked about making money. Milton especially loved spending time with all of the children in his life.

Survivors include a four daughters, JaQue'lynn Oliver (Qaadir) of Youngstown, OH, Chiffawna Tillman (Jerome) of Abingdon, MD, Tierra Russell of Pittsburgh, PA, and Leigha Hillman (Gary) of Sedalia; eight grandchildren, Joure-Dir Oliver, Xo-Qai Oliver, Qarlee Russell, Qy'ere Russell, Ma'at Thomas, Aseer Thomas, Ausar Thomas, Josiah Hillman, Ruth Hillman; a sister, Annette Banks-Rivers of Tacoma, WA; two nieces, Christine Rivers and her children, Christal and Ternell, Jr. and Denise Michael (Dana) and their children, Christopher and Celia; a nephew, Donovan Rivers.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Maiye-Darling Oliver.

Graveside will be at 2:00 p.m. at The Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO. Full military honors conducted by Whiteman Air Force Base Honor Team and Sedalia VFW Post #2591.

Pallbearer will be Gary Hillman.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
