Mary Joyce Weathers

Mary Joyce Weathers, 74, of Sedalia, MO, passed away at her home on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. She was born on May 9, 1949, in Seattle, WA, the daughter of George Frank Humphries and Bettie Jane (Morrissey) Humphries, who preceded her in death.

Joyce was a 1968 graduate of Sacred Heart High School. She worked at the Sacred Heart School cafeteria. Joyce was the head cook at the Bob White 4-H Camp in Knob Noster, MO. She was a nurse aide and ward clerk at Bothwell Hospital in the Critical Care Unit, retiring in 2009.

Joyce enjoyed reading novels, embroidering, quilting, and playing sudoku. She was a great cook and loved baking. Joyce liked to collect lighthouses, monkeys, and ceramic dolls. She especially loved spending time with her grandbabies and good friends, Sharon Cummings and Cindy McElhaney.

Survivors include four children, Gerri Lyn Crank (Faron) of Sedalia, Michelle Martin (Kenneth) of Otterville, Ramie Weathers (Stephanie) of Montana, and Joseph Weathers (Rachel) of Sedalia; five grandchildren, Kimberly Crank(Nicholas), Cody Anderson, Nicholi Crank (McKenna), Alexis Weathers (Terrence), and Angel Martin; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Vicki Konnecke (Ed) of Wyoming and Sharon Brumbaugh (Neil) of Oregon; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Carl Weathers, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Rea Funeral Chapel with Pastor Rick McElhaney officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Rea Funeral Chapel.

The burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Sedalia, MO.

Casket bearers will be Joseph Weathers, Faron Crank, Kenneth Martin, Terrence Callaway, Nicholas Brashear, Nicholi Crank, and Jose Cervantes.

Honorary bearers will be grandchildren.
