Obituary For Mary Cook

Mary Kathryn Cook, 84, of LaMonte, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center in Sedalia, Missouri. She was born on August 10, 1932 in Sedalia, Missouri the daughter of Walter and Mildred (Thomas) Calhoun, who preceded her in death.

She worked as cook at Bothwell Regional Health Center, retiring in 1994. She worked for the Sedalia #200 School District as a part-time cook at the Sedalia Middle School. She was a member of Parkway Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, working cross word puzzles and word search puzzles. She especially enjoyed family gatherings during the holidays and making pies.

Survivors include five children, Floyd Cook (Anna) Penacook, NH, Kathy Younce (John) of LaMonte, Cherryl Phang (Vincent) of Sedalia, John Cook (Melinda) of Sedalia and Marsha Goalder (Steve) of Sedalia; a sister, Jean McIntosh of Seattle, WA; 17 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Cook; two brothers, Darrell Calhoun and William Calhoun; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 19, 2016 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dan Talbott officiating.

The family will receive friends 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday September 18, 2016 at Rea Funeral Chapel.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Barton, Keith Cook, Steven Zeiler, Steve Goalder, Jr., Raymond Sosa, and Randy Sosa.

Memorial contributions may be made to Parkway Freewill Baptist Church in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
