Mary Frances Cauvel, 91, of Sedalia passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Bothwell Regional Health Center. She was born on June 2, 1922 in Council Bluffs, IA, a daughter of Stanley and Ruby (Deal) Darnell, who preceded her in death.
On July 4, 1942 in Council Bluffs, IA she was united in marriage to Elwood Garrean, who preceded her in death on August 18, 1943. In Las Vegas, NV on July 28, 1944 she was united in marriage to Donald Powell, who preceded her in death on August 20, 2005.
Mary worked on the Apollo Program in the mid 60’s as an aircraft electronics assembler for North American Aeronautics, Fullerton, CA. She was creative, artistic, a great seamstress and cook. She enjoyed watching her birds and working in her yard and garden.
She is survived by one daughter, Donna Weston of Sedalia; one brother, Robert Darnell of Council Bluffs, IA; one grandson, Alex Rodriguera of Sedalia and seven nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Belak and a brother, Fred Darnell.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, January 30, 2014, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Sedalia with Rev. Rodney Brown officiating.
There will be no visitation.
