Obituary For Mary A. Welch

Mary A. Welch, 81, of Sedalia, MO passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO. She was born on November 24, 1940 in St. Louis, MO the daughter of Ambrose Kelly and Anna (Farrell) Kelly, who preceded her in death.

On November 4, 1959 in St. Louis, she was united in marriage to Gene O. Lomax, who preceded her in death on October 4, 1984. In 1993 she was untied in marriage to Paul Welch who preceded her in death on November 28, 2011.

Her family was very important to her. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was very proud of her daughters, son in laws and her grandchildren. Mary loved girls weekend with her daughters and granddaughters. She loved the Lake of the Ozarks and that is where she spent her summer vacations growing up and then when she had a family of her own. Mary loved fishing, boating, water skiing, and golfing. She was competitive when playing games. She enjoyed playing Bingo, board games, Fast Track and cards. Mary especially enjoyed all of her friends at Cedarhurst.

Mary is survived by three daughters, Mary Bascio (John) of O'Fallon, MO, Jeannine Satterwhite (Scott) of Sedalia, and Ann Moerschell (Mark) of O'Fallon, MO; three grandchildren, Phillip, Sarah (Tim), and Ashley; two step-grandchildren, Christina and Michael; two step-great grandchildren; and a sister, Theresa Robertson of Virginia.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Robert Kelly, Ambrose Kelly, Jr., Russell Kelly, John Kelly, James Kelly, and Michael Kelly.

A Prayer service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Deacon Turf Martin officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until service time at the chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sedalia Animal Shelter or the Lupus Foundation of America in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
