Martha "Michelle" Monroy-Sierra, 48, of Sedalia passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at her home. She was born on April 22, 1968 in La Soledad, Michoacan, Mexico, the daughter of Apolinar Monroy-Reyes and Maria Isabel Bello-Lopez, who preceded her in death.
Martha was united in marriage to Raul Sierra in Tijuana, Mexico, who survives of the home.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, the RCC Preciosa Sangre in Sedalia. She enjoyed working at the farmer's market in the Thompson Hill's Shopping Center parking lot. Martha always loved to help others and donate her famous tamales to Sacred Heart School fund raisers. She especially loved spending time with her family and loved her children and grandchildren dearly.
Besides her husband, Raul, she is survived by four children, Mayra Ramirez (Victor Marcos), Stephany Sierra (Juan Tamayo), Brian Sierra, and Anthony Sierra all of Sedalia; a brother, Felipe; and seven sisters, Maria G., Natalia, Florina, Francisca, Juana, Esperanza, and Maria Lourdes Monroy, all of Mexico.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Joaquin Monroy.
A mass of christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 6, 2016 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Sedalia, with Father Geoffrey Brooks officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2016 until the funeral mass on Monday at the church. A rosary will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. on Monday evening at the church.
Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens Cemetery, Sedalia.
Pallbearers will be Raul Sierra, Juan Hernandez, Raul Hernandez, Daniel Franco, Martin Hernandez and Juan Tamayo.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sierra family in care of the funeral chapel.
