Marla D. Moore, 62, of Sedalia, MO, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at EW Thompson Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born on December 24, 1961, in Trenton, MO, she was the beloved daughter of Judy G. (Davis) Moore, who resides in the home and the late James R. Moore, who passed away on August 30, 2015.
A proud graduate of Boonville High School in 1982, Marla dedicated 31 years of her life to the Ewing Vocational Center, where she made lasting friendships and positively impacted many lives. She also assisted her dear friend, the late Marge Harlan, with computer data filing.
Marla's joyful spirit shone through her many interests: she loved solving word search puzzles, cheering on her favorite WWE wrestlers, and enjoying the sounds of country music. A true connoisseur of comfort food, she never turned down a delicious cheeseburger and fries.
Marla is survived by her loving mother, Judy Plumb of Sedalia; two devoted sisters, Lisa Bird (Steve) of Pilot Grove and Mindy Ruckman (Bryan) of Sedalia; and a cherished bonus sister, Belena Spencer (Delvin) of Enid, Oklahoma. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
In addition to her father, Marla was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Lois and Harry Davis, her step-grandfather J.L. Hamilton, and her paternal grandparents, Thornton and Mabel Moore.
A celebration of Marla's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at Rea Funeral Chapel, with Pastors Dutch Boer and Laurie Boer officiating. Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the service begins.
Marla will be laid to rest at Crown Hill Cemetery in Sedalia, MO. Honorary bearers include her beloved nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews: Halee Shull, Spencer Ruckman, Emily Ruckman, Blaire Ruckman, Kiel Miller, Katie Miller, Tyler Miller, Landyn Miller, and Delaney Miller.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Worship House Spirit Center, 701 E. 5th St., Sedalia, or in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
