Marjettue "Margaret" J. Jonson

Marjettue "Margaret" J. Jonson, 91, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at E.W. Thompson Health and Rehabilitation Center in Sedalia. She was born on January 15, 1931, in Hannibal, MO, the daughter of Walter A. Vaughn and Ruth C. (Kreisel) Vaughn, who preceded her in death.

On March 19, 1948, in Warrensburg, MO, she was united in marriage to George C. Jonson, who preceded her in death on October 19, 2003.

Margaret grew up in Cole Camp, MO. She lived in the same home for 65 years. She loved all kinds of flowers. She loved to cook but, more importantly, liked to serve her family during the holidays. She loved to spend time with her grandkids. She was an excellent crocheter.

Margaret is survived by her son, Gary Jonson of Kearney, MO; two daughters, Brenda Kempton (Mike) of Shawnee, KS, and Sherry Reid (Don) of Houstonia, MO; six grandchildren, Kelly Limpic (Jeff), Kevin Kempton (Adrienne), Shawn Reid (Carrie), Kristin Reid, Lindsey Snider-Jones, and Ryan Snider; seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her husband, Margaret was preceded in death by her six siblings, Alvin Vaughn, Melvin Vaughn, Glyrous Vaughn, Jobe Vaughn, Oliver Vaughn, and Genova Vaughn, and her grandson, Matthew S. Kempton.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Rea Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Jeremy Freeman officiating.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at the funeral chapel.

Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Sedalia, MO.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Kempton, Jeff Limpic, Shawn Reid, Tommy Sprinkle, Jobe Sprinkle, and Rob Holem.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.
