Marion Lee Hancock, 72, of Warrensburg passed away Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg. He was born on December 14, 1945 in Warrensburg, MO the son of Wilfred Marion and Betty Lou (Wade) Hancock, who preceded him in death.
Marion served his country honorably during the Vietnam War from 1963 until 1969. He was a Johnson County volunteer fire fighter in Warrensburg. He worked at the University of Central Missouri, Warrensburg, Kansas University Medical Center, and Cerner, in Kansas City, MO. Marion's passion was freelance writing. He wrote and published technical resource books that are used today at colleges and universities. Marion enjoyed going to Wayside Waifs to photograph animals that were up for adoption.
Survivors include a sister, Marilyn Grechus and her husband Lindal of Sedalia; and step mother, Colleen Barrows - Hancock of Warrensburg.
A memorial gathering of family and friends will be scheduled at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
