Marie Flore Samedi, 75, of Warrensburg, MO, passed away peacefully after a long battle on December 6, 2024, at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg, MO. She was born on April 29, 1949, in Marigot, Jacmel, Haiti, the daughter of Michel Moise and Jamilia Samedi, who preceded her in death.
Marie worked as a personal care assistant in Manhattan for many years after moving to Brooklyn, NY, in October 1984. She was a dedicated caregiver to many and was loved by everyone around her. Marie cherished time spent with her family and friends. She was passionate about music, sewing, cooking, attending church, and engaging with her community. A devoted woman of God, she found joy in her faith. Her kindness and love have touched many lives.
She is survived by three sons, Fabrice Mathieu of Haiti, Wilbert Exilus of Brooklyn, NY, and Yves Andre Exilus (Jamie Michelle) of Cole Camp, MO; one daughter, Charlaine Cadet of New Jersey; two brothers, Fritz Samedi of Canada, and Jean Claude of New York; and seven grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by a daughter, Tamara Samedi.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at The Church of God, Brooklyn, 8315 Flatland Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11236, with Bishop Adrian officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel, 3510 W. 16th St. Sedalia, MO 65301.
