Marcella Marie "Marcia" Campbell, 88, of Green Ridge passed away Sunday, July 24, 2016 at St. Luke's East Hospital in Lees Summit, MO. She was born on May 14, 1928 in Cole Camp, MO, the daughter of Leo and Mary Margaret (Eicholtz) Burkhart, who preceded her in death.
On January 18, 1948 in LaMonte, MO she was united in marriage to William C. Campbell, who survives of the home.
Marcia was co-owner and waitress of Bill's Cafe in Green Ridge from 1964 until 1976. She worked as a waitress for the Sedalia Holiday Inn, State Fair Restaurant and ended her career at Best Western Motor Inn as the banquet hostess. Marcia enjoyed being outside in her garden and flowers, pulling endless weeds, and canning her harvest out of her garden. She loved playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She lived all of her life in the Cole Camp and Green Ridge areas.
Besides her husband Bill, she was also survived by a son Wayne Campbell (Elaine) of Centerview, MO; a daughter Ranae Smith (Jim) of Sedalia; three grandchildren, Kelly Campbell (Amy), of Smithton, Scott Smith (Vanessa) of Sedalia, Jammi Birch (Mike) of Green Ridge; and12 great grandchildren.
Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by a half brother, Charlie Frisbie; and a grandson James Smith.
A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Heart Association or the St. Luke's Heart Institute in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
