Lucille M. Meyers, 98, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center in Sedalia. She was born on April 11, 1925, in Sedalia, the daughter of Leonard Shepard and Anna (Carlson) Shepard, who preceded her in death.
On May 14, 1947, in Sedalia, MO, she was united in marriage to Marion Meyers, who preceded her in death on July 30, 2001.
Lucille was a member of Parkview Christian Church. She was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 57. Lucille was also a member of the Order of Beauccant. Lucille enjoyed playing cards, bingo, reading, and attending family events.
Survivors include three daughters, Kathy Burt (Harold) of Sedalia, Pat Batchelor (Allan) of Ozark, MO, and Donna Hooker of Joplin, MO; a son, Chuck Meyers of Barnett, MO; eight grandchildren, Lori, Andy, Amy, Chris, Katelyn, Sabrina, Charlie, and Jay; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a brother, James Shepard of Sedalia.
In addition to her husband and parents, Lucille was preceded in death by four sisters, Dorothy Sands, Ruth Epley, Betty Eickhoff, and Mary Webb.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Rea Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Jeff Randleman officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 12:45 p.m., followed by an Eastern Star service prior to the funeral.
Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Sedalia, MO.
Pallbearers will be Andy Burt, Chris Reynolds, Charlie Meyers, Daren Leicher, Daniel Skinner, Brian Byerly, and Jay Meyers.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Show-Me Christian Youth Home or the Masonic Home of Missouri in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
