Obituary For Loyd Kindle

Loyd Eugene Kindle, 81, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016, at Boone Hospital in Columbia, MO. He was born on December 30, 1934, in Sedalia, MO, the son of Thomas Homer and Myrl Josephene (Poynter) Kindle, who preceded him in death.

On September 24, 1959, in LaMonte, MO, he was united in marriage to Frankie Whitaker, who survives of the home.

Loyd was a graduate of LaMonte High School. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was inducted as a Mason with former Missouri Governor Warren Hearnes, and was a member of the Ararat Shrine in Kansas City, MO and the Sedalia Shrine Club. He was also a member of the Missouri Quarter Horse Racing Association. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Sedalia.

He worked at Meadow Gold Dairy Company, Sedalia, MO. He was a salesman at Holsum Bread Company and delivered milk for Formost Dairy in Kansas City. He retired from Sedalia Fruit Company. He owned Pettis County Restaurant Equipment with his son Brad. He owned and operated concessions at the Missouri State Fair, including the Hacienda, with his wife and his daughter, Lisa.

Loyd enjoyed telling stories, playing practical jokes, entertaining kids with magic tricks, and reminiscing about old times. He played softball and basketball in the Kansas City and Sedalia areas. He loved coaching his children and their friends in all sports. Loyd dearly loved racing horses with his son, brother and family members. He loved to gamble. He enjoyed playing Texas Hold 'em. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play ball. He absolutely adored his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Most of all, he enjoyed every moment of life with his best friend and wife, Frankie.

Besides his wife, he is also survived by a son, Brad Kindle (Mary); a daughter, Lisa Tatum and her fiance' Jeff Shaver; a brother Alfred Kindle (Edna); four sisters, Maxine Griggs, Nadine Klein, JoAnn Collier and Kathy Martin (Corbett); six grandchildren, Luke, Jessica, Jake, Sam, Logan and Walker; three great-grandchildren, Kindle, Cooper and Jaxon, all of Sedalia.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother Tom Kindle; and his sisters, Lucille Bowers, Edith Rickey, Mary Jett, SueBell Brockman, Patsy Pyle, Tinnie Smith and Janie Kindle Jobe.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2016, at Rea Funeral Chapel with Pastor Corbett Martin officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 8, 2016, at Rea Funeral Chapel. There will be a Masonic service conducted by the Masonic Lodge #272 AF & AM Sedalia during the visitation.

Burial will be in the LaMonte Cemetery, LaMonte, MO.

Pallbearers will be Luke Kindle, Jake Kindle, Sam Kindle, Walker Tatum, Andy Kindle, Tommy Kindle, Adam Himes, Josh Zolotar, Austin Shaver, Joe Beykirk, and Jeff Arnwine.

Honorary bearers will be Joe Peron, Tom Beck, Dennis Gerken, Bob Reavis, Kirby Pyle, Johnny Klein, Clinton Shoemaker, Matthew Smith, Darin Martin, Dr. Wade Schondelmeyer, and Travis Jobe.

Memorial contributions may be made in care of the funeral home for the purchase of a memorial to be placed at the Missouri State Fairgrounds.
