Obituary For Lou E. Burnett
Lou E. Burnett, 86, of Sedalia passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021, at Fair View Nursing Home in Sedalia. She was born on May 30, 1935, in Sedalia, the daughter of Donnie and Ethel Mae Young, who preceded her in death.
On May 31, 1958, in Sedalia, she was united in marriage to Earl Louis Burnett, who preceded her in death on April 28, 2007.
Lou worked for over 42 years at Garst's/Eddie's Drive Inn, Sedalia. She started as a carhop and worked her way up to a night manager. Lou enjoyed reading, watching game shows, playing games with family, and doing crossword puzzles. She especially loved spending time with her grandkids and grand-dogs.
Survivors include a son Kevin Burnett and his wife Tammy of Houston, TX; three daughters, Deana Coppess and her husband David of Gravois Mills, MO, Laura Cramer and her husband Jason of Sedalia, and Nicole Burnett of Sedalia; fourteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles, Harry, William, and James Young; and a baby sister in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Pastor Rusty Thomas officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at the chapel.
Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Sedalia, MO.
Pallbearers will be Conner Tuley, Sasha Coppess, Dustin Blaylock, Klaire Martin, Tyler Chapman, and Jason Cramer.
Honorary bearers will be Erin Burnett, Shannon Burnett, Lauren Martin, Megan Tuley, Natalia Coppess, Makaela Burnett, Kylie Burnett, Kalani Burnett, and Madalyn McNeil.
Memorial contributions may be made to Fair View Nursing Home in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
