Lois Jane Hunter Schnakenberg, 89, of Sedalia, MO passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021 at her home. She was born on June 23, 1931 in Norbourne, MO the daughter of George Lona Lewis and Lois Ophelia (Cryder) Lewis, who preceded her in death.
On June 9, 1949 in Sedalia at the home of her grandmother Ella Merritt Cryder, she was united in marriage to Robert William Hunter, who preceded her in death in May of 1986.
On April 11, 1992 in Sedalia, she was united in marriage to Roy Dean Schnakenberg, who preceded her in death on October 28, 2013.
Lois was in the class of 1949 and graduate of Knob Noster High School. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She worked at TWA Airlines and was a stay at home mother. Later went back to work at Western Felt & Acadia. Bob and Lois breed and raised English Bull Dogs. She, George and Lewis showed the Bull Dogs. Every summer there was a Lewis and Hunter family camp-out reunion on a 4 day long weekend. There were at least 64 family members show up at the event to fish, swim, and ate a lot. Lois enjoyed traveling and was well known as "Go Go Lois". She loved oil painting and enjoyed giving her paintings to everyone. Lois had a very deep love for her Lord and Savior, praying for everyone. She belonged to the Wendy's card crowd and the lovely ladies group. Lois loved playing hand and foot, 500 rummy, pitch, pinocle, and domino's. She never lost a friend in her life and always had open arms, open ears, and a open heart to listen to all of joys and woos of her motley crew family.
Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Jensen (Rick) of Ozawkie, KS; a son, Robert Kevin Hunter (Wendy) of Itasca, TX; eight grandchildren, Noah, Mercianne, Lauriebeth, Jenna Lynne, Beckajoyce, Brent Lewis, Jessica Jae, and Christina Marie; thirteen, great grandchildren, McKenna, Hunter, Hailey, Mason, Gavin, Zoey, Gage, Kymaira, Caylee, Alexis, Jordan, Grace, and Brady; a first cousin, Jean Swegles Waddell of Nixa, MO; a sister-in-law, Marie Alice Hunter of Sedalia; and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons and daughter-in-law, Lewis William Hunter and wife Pamela Joyce, and George Oliver Hunter; a brother, Robert George Lewis; and a great granddaughter, Meechele Kayle Page.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Don Satterwhite officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Sedalia, MO.
Pallbearers will be Hunter Finch, Brent Hunter, Brian Whitson, Robert Page, Tom Smith, Nicklas Schulte and Daniel Ismay.
Honorary bearers will be Kevin and Noah Hunter, Mason Page, and Gage Whitson.
Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
