Obituary For Lloyd George Forbes

Lloyd George Forbes, 90, of Sedalia, MO, passed away at his daughter's home on Saturday, March 4, 2023, in Sedalia. He was born on December 10, 1932, in Beaman, MO, the son of Nile Lee Forbes and Mary Louise Griffing, who preceded him in death.

On January 5, 1955, in Sedalia, MO, he was united in marriage to Marian Forbes, who preceded him in death on June 2, 2019.

Lloyd was a graduate of Smith-Cotton High School, class of 1950. He was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force. He was a machine operator out of Alcan, where he later retired. He loved riding his motorcycle until he was 84 years old. He was an outgoing man who didn't know a stranger and would talk to anyone. He was an example of goodness.

Lloyd is survived by his sons, Bill Forbes of Sedalia, Dan Forbes, of Smithton, and Steve Forbes of Warrensburg; a daughter, Nancy Parker and her husband Robert of Sedalia; four grandsons, Brandon, Quinten, Noah, and Jacob; a granddaughter, Megan; a sister, Illa Mae (Pistol) Yeater; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

Lloyd's wishes were to have no services.

In lieu of flowers and plants, Lloyd's wishes were to have memorial contributions made to the Lloyd and Marian Forbes scholarship fund at Whittier High School in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.

The family would like to thank Crossroads Hospice, especially Brittany and Tammy, for caring for Lloyd.
