Lloyd Allen "L.A" Edwards Jr., 69, of Sedalia passed away Saturday June 10, 2017 at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. He was born on July 30, 1947 in Boonville, MO the son of Lloyd Allen Edwards, Sr, who preceded him in death and Valmer G. (Clark) Edwards Thomas who resides of La Monte, MO. On August 26, 2005 in Sedalia, he was united in marriage to Joann Simmons-Stevens, who resides of the home. Lloyd served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He worked as a salesman for Clay Equipment Company, where he was the top salesman award three times. He worked as a welder for Parkhurst Manufacturing before retiring. Lloyd was a member of First Baptist Church in Boonville, MO and attended Calvary Baptist Church in Sedalia. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. In addition to his wife Joann and mother, he is also survived by two sons, Eric Edwards of Las Vegas, NV and Tyler Edwards of Fortuna, MO; three step children, Theresa Smith and her husband Sean of Cedar Creek, TX, Stan Stevens of Houstonia and Brian Stevens of Warrensburg; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a step sister, Cindy Birdwell and her husband Scotty of La Monte; and his step father, Zeb Thomas of La Monte. In addition to his father, he is also preceded in death by a baby sister, Marilyn Edwards. A memorial graveside service and burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Ted Francis officiating. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Disabled American Veterans in care of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
