Linda Sue Hockersmith, 79, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. She was born on July 6, 1945, in Johnson County, MO, the daughter of the late William W. Parsons and Helen I. (Iiams) Parsons, who resides in Centerview, MO.
On December 1, 1978, in Warrensburg, MO, she was united in marriage to Arthur Hockersmith, who resides in the home.
Linda was a beacon of cheer and positivity, known for her energetic spirit and love for her family. Hard-working, she delighted in connecting with her customers at White's Cleaners, where she worked for many years before retiring in 2013 to spend more time with her beloved husband of 46 years, Art.
Linda had a passion for the simple pleasures in life. She found joy in spending time with her family, crafting, decorating, and curling up at home in her fuzzy blanket. Her love for these little things was a testament to her caring nature, making every space she touched a little brighter. Linda's legacy of love, creativity, and kindness will forever be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
In addition to her husband and mother, Linda is survived by three children, Lori Clark (Terry) of Sedalia, William R. Green of Kansas City, MO, and Melissa "Missy" Heck (Chris Daniels) of Lee's Summit, MO; four grandchildren, Paul (Shannon), Taryn, Lauren (Mark), and Harrison; six great-grandchildren; Orval, Oakes, Otis, Paige, Julian, and Jade; two brothers, William Parsons, Jr. (Lillian) of Southport, NC and Larry Parsons of Centerview, MO; a sister, Debbie Bracken (Jerry) of Centerview, MO; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Rea Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Aaron Roberts officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
The burial will be at Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor, MO.
Pallbearers will be Paul Clark, Terry Clark, Chris Daniels, Mark Savage, Tyler Jackson, and David Downs
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or St. Jude Children's Hospital in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
