Leonard Elmer Kindle, 65, of La Monte, MO, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 peacefully in his sleep at home.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Rea Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the Chapel. Burial will follow the funeral at the La Monte Cemetery.
Leonard was born in Alturas, CA, on October 6, 1952 to Elmer and Mildred (Shernaman) Kindle.
He married Janet Sue Maples on February 5, 1971 and they created a lifetime of memories over their 47 years of marriage, who resides of the home.
He was a farmer; a family man who enjoyed time with his kids and anything that the grandkids were doing. Leonard worked hard his whole life whether it be milking cows, hauling grain, driving the school bus, spraying crops or delivering fuel. Through it all he had a passion for farming.
He was an advocate for good education and being engaged in the community having served on the La Monte School Board, NFO, 4-H, and the Pettis County Extension.
Leonard is survived by his wife, Janet; their three children, Greg Kindle and his wife, Karen, Nikki Howell and her husband, Chris, Jenni Sosa and her husband, Randy; his 7 grandchildren Olivia, Megan, Chase, Logan, Piper, Ally and Austin; nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his sister, Evelyn Cannon.
Pallbearers will be Steven Bruner, Jeremy Dillon, Jack Hall, Dustin Mahin, Brian Martin, and Wesley White.
Honorary bearers will be David Guier, David Gerken, Carl Arnett, Fred Peters, Sam Mehan, and Jack Cannon.
In lieu of flowers, the family recommends donations be made to the Bothwell Regional Health Center Cardiac Rehab Center.
