Leona A. Selken, 96, of Sedalia passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Fair View Nursing Home in Sedalia. She was born on January 2, 1922 in Florence, MO daughter of August and Nora (Schroeder) Hartman, who preceded her in death.
On January 23, 1944 in Florence, MO she was united in marriage to Paul O. Selken, who preceded her in death on November 6, 1969.
Leona was a member of Smithton United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed working on her farm near Smithton.
Survivors include two sons, Paul Selken, and Phillip Selken both of rural Sedalia; a granddaughter, Sara of Seattle, WA along with a grandson Eric (Kacey) of Austin, TX; two great grandchildren; a brother Dennis Hartman of Blacksburg, VA.
In addition to her husband Paul, she was preceded in death twin sons, Ned and Ted Selken; and a daughter, Nancy; a sister, Doreen McRoberts of Malta Bend, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jason Veale, officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
Private family burial will be at Smithton Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Leo Schroeder, Duane Schroeder, J.D. Muschany, Gary Brodersen, Matt Boatright, and Jason Sawford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Smithton United Methodist Church in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
