Obituary For Lee Roy Freese

Lee Roy Freese, 79, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, October 24th, 2019. He was born on August 5, 1940. Lee worked with his father at Freese Dairy. After that, he was an insurance sales rep for many years. Lee was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. He was an active member of Knights of Columbus for over 55 years.

Anyone who knew Lee knew that he didn’t know a stranger. He could talk to anybody about anything. He especially loved to talk baseball with people. He had a love for baseball and coached youth baseball teams for many years. He was an avid Cardinals baseball fan. His room was filled with all things Cardinals baseball. Lee loved to play cards and bingo and enjoyed working at the bingo hall. In his free time Lee enjoyed being outside, especially riding on his orange lawnmower with his grandchildren on his lap. If Lee wasn’t outside at home in the yard, you could find him watching his grandchildren play soccer, basketball or whatever the sport season may be. You could always hear him yelling from the stands. He also enjoyed cooking. He made the best ham around the holidays, and his grandchildren loved his hamburgers and fried potatoes. Often times during the day you could find Lee sitting in his recliner with his dog Bandit watching cowboy movies or listening to old country music on Saturday nights. You could find him in his recliner every evening after dinner too, with a big bowl of ice cream.

Lee will be missed greatly by all who knew him, especially his friends and family.

“Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed and very dear.”

A Memorial Gathering will be held from 6 pm to 7 pm Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, MO.
