Larry Paul Walker, 98, of Sedalia, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024, at his home in Sedalia. He was born on April 28, 1926, in Dyer, TN, the son of Lester Earl Walker and Ola Lee (Edwards) Walker, who preceded him in death.
On September 16, 1950, in Artesia, NM, he was united in marriage to Joanna Lahvie Davidson, who preceded him in death on September 29, 2023.
Larry's life was marked by his honorable service in the United States Air Force from 1944 until 1966. He served his country with pride during WWII and retired as a Tech Sergeant, having loaded atomic weapons on the B-47 and B-36 bomber airplanes. His dedication to service continued in his civil service work at Sunflower Ammunition Plant in Kansas and later at Whiteman Air Force Base.
Larry was a man of unwavering dedication to his family. His hard work and commitment were the pillars that held his loved ones together. He found joy in simple pleasures like gardening, hunting, and attending antique auctions with his beloved wife.
Survivors include three daughters, Velma Fici (Carl) of Versailles, MO, Paula Troncoso (Micheal) of Barnett, MO, and Belinda Walker of Sedalia; three grandchildren, John Paul Stohr (Diane), Joshua Allee (Lori), and Jana Allee (Kinley); a great-grandson, Braden Allee; a sister, Betty Ann Smith of Chicago, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, Larry was preceded in death by five brothers, Woodrow, Earl, Cecil, Ralph, and Wilson Walker; two sisters, Laverne Qualls and Estelle Warren.
A private graveside service and burial were held at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Higginsville, MO. Full military honors were rendered by the United States Air Force.
Pallbearers were Joshua Allee, Jana Allee, Braden Allee, and Michael Troncoso.
Arrangements were under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
