Larry Dale Haney, Sr., 72, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017 at his home. He was born on August 28, 1944 in Charleston, MO, the son of Marshall and Elizabeth (Phipps) Haney, who preceded him in death.
On June 26, 1965 in Omaha, NE, he was united in marriage to Jean Vanhessche, who resides of the home.
Larry worked for many feed mills and farming. He enjoyed coon hunting, hunting, fishing, and going to the Masonic Lodge. Larry especially loved spending his time with his family. He was a member of Trilumina Masonic Lodge, Marshall, MO. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.
In addition to his wife Jean, he is also survived by two sons, Larry D Haney, Jr. (Chris) of Leon, KS, and James M. Haney (Angela) of Sedalia; a daughter, Kelly Estes of Sedalia; eight grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a brother, Harold Haney; a sister, Gloria Frobase; and a grandson, David Haney.
Funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2017 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, with his son Larry D. Haney, Jr. officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the chapel.
Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO, with full military honors being conducted by Whiteman Air Force Base Honor Guard and Sedalia VFW Post #2591.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Til' We Ride Again Motorcycle Hearse in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
