Kenneth James Smith, 51, of Sedalia, MO passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019 at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia. He was born on April 30, 1967 in Milton, FL.
Kenny was a man who loved to do anything with his hands. He also enjoyed work and going on field jobs so he could critique the driving skills of his coworker and life long friend Bill Gunnerson. He had a talent for drawing, loved making people laugh, and was kindhearted. He would give the shirt off his back for anyone in need. He especially enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter and any chance he could with nieces and nephews. The last four years of his life was spent with a special loved one, Maurica Meschelle Williams.
Kenny served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1985-1989. His last act of service was the gift of life through organ donation.
Besides Maurica Willaims, survivors include four daughters, Jessica Henley of Fairview, OK, Erica Miller and Kendra Miller both of Warsaw, MO, and Libby Piskule of Rapid City, SD; one brother, Ronald Smith (Amy) of Gwinn, MI; two sisters, Melanie Moore (Rick) of Pilot Grove, MO and Kimberly Wood (Brent) of Heber Springs, AR; and his beloved granddaughter, Shyloh Henley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Doyle and Arlene (Hanhart) Wente and his brother, Robert Smith.
A private celebration of life will take place at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.
