Obituary For Kenneth Duane Emery

Kenneth Duane Emery, 88, of Sedalia, MO passed away Friday, September 17, 2021 at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center in Sedalia. He was born on November 5, 1932 in Sedalia, the son of Clayton Earl Emery and Elizabeth (Urban) Emery, who preceded him in death.

On December 24, 1957 in Sedalia, MO he was united in marriage to Jennifer N. Ward, who resides in the home.

Kenny was a 1952 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy during the Korean War from 1953 until 1957. In the early 60's, Kenny and his wife owned the Thunder Bowl Speedway in Sedalia. He was a member of First United Methodist Church Celebration Center, Sedalia. Kenny was a railroad foreman for the Missouri Pacific shops in Sedalia for many years, retiring in 1993. He enjoyed playing golf and cards. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching football, baseball and NASCAR on TV.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a son, Michael D. Emery of Sedalia; a daughter, Lynda Kincade of Osage Beach, MO; two grandsons, Jake and Nick Kincade; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Emery.

A memorial graveside service and burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Crown Hill Cemetery with Pastor Candace Fowler officiating.

There will be no formal visitation held.

Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church Celebration Center in care of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
