Obituary For Kenneth Alvin Lumpe

Kenneth Alvin Lumpe, 84, of Sedalia, passed away on December 30, 2021, at his home. On February 17, 1937, he was born in Lincoln, MO, the son of Alvin Lumpe and Lula (Wischmeier) Lumpe, who preceded him in death.

On August 3, 1957, in Lincoln, MO, he was united in marriage to Joan Kathryn Lumpe, who preceded him in death on February 16, 1996.

Kenneth will most importantly be remembered as a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was affectionately known as "Gramps" by his grandchildren. Kenneth particularly enjoyed fishing trips, making fine wines from grapes grown in his garden, and spending time in his woodworking shop crafting beautiful furniture pieces. He always enjoyed being outside gardening, working with his bee projects, and maintaining his yard. However, he would relax and unwind by playing cards with family and friends.

He is survived by a son, Jeff Lumpe of Barnett, MO, and a daughter Kathy Harrison and her husband Ken of Clinton, MO; five grandchildren, Josh, Nick (Tiffany), Emily (Dillon), Quinten (Ashleigh), and Conner; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded by a sister, Louise Hicks.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, with Pastor Andrew Tessone officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.

The burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery, Sedalia, MO.

Pallbearers will be Josh Lumpe, Nick Lumpe, Quinten Harrison, Dillon Stocking, Conner Lumpe, Dennis Swartzentruber, Joe Kendrick, and Steve Nichols.

Honorary bearers will be Tiffany Lumpe, Emily Stocking, Ashleigh Harrison, Don, and Irma Wood.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church Radio Ministry in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
