Obituary For Kelly Jean Hawkins

Kelly Jean Hawkins, 57, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia.

Kelly received her General Education Diploma and her Associate’s Degree from State Fair Community College while raising her children. She worked hard in different jobs over the years, but always provided for her children.

Kelly had many interests during her life. One wonderful memory of her is the joy she got from cooking for family and friends, even those “adopted” children over the years at the local ambulance service and Pettis County Sheriff’s Office that referred to her as “Mama Kelly,” and seeing smiling faces when she would bring in baked goods and treats.

Kelly’s greatest joy came from her family, but most of all being “Nanny” to her grandbabies. She was their biggest cheerleader and always had hugs at the ready. She loved watching them grow and participate in their different sports and activities, especially baseball games where they could hear her whistle over everything while out on the field.

Survivors include her parents, Bob and Marge Watson, of Sedalia; three children, Heather Hawkins-Hoehne, Nathan Hawkins, and Samuel Watson all of Sedalia; five siblings, Bill Watson, Tracy Aldrich, Scott Watson, Denise Ross, and Chris Watson; six grandchildren, Jackson, Frankie, Lillie, Jacob, Elsie, and Rhetten.

She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Andrew Hoehne.

A celebration of life service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2023, at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Pastor Andrew Tessone officiating.

The family will receive friends from 4:30 p.m. until service time at the church.

Inurnment will be held in Calvary Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
