Kelly Louise DeBates, 46, of Sedalia passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015. She was born on August 22, 1968 in Moline, Illinois. She was the daughter of Henry Lawrence DeBates, who preceded her in death and Barbara Sue (Olmstead) DeBates, who survives of Sedalia. Kelly attended Smith-Cotton High School and achieved her G.E.D. in 1990. She graduated from State Fair Community College with an Associates degree in Metals Technology - Machine Tool and also held a Certified Nursing?Assistant license. She worked as a CNA for Bridges of Missouri. Kelly loved to read, go fishing, and mushroom hunting. She enjoyed her pets and being outdoors. Kelly was a devoted grandmother who specially loved spending time with her two grandchildren and also enjoyed time with her family. Kelly was also a very caring friend and daughter who highly valued her relationship with her best friend Linda Miley and her mother, Barbara S. DeBates. Besides her mother, she is survived by two children, Kayla D. Bain and Corey E. DeBates, both of Sedalia; a sister, Diane Hammond (Terry) of Warsaw; three brothers, Henry "Sonny" DeBates, Jr. (Cynthia) of Sedalia, Raymond DeBates of Sedalia and David DeBates (Paula) of Columbia; two grandchildren, Serenity E. DeBates and Jonah K. DeBates. A memorial service will be held at?6 p.m.?Tuesday, April 28, 2015?at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia with Rev. Dutch Boer officiating.
Family will received friends from?4:30 p.m?until service time.
Honorary bearers will be Linda Miley and Sue Martin.
Over the year, Kelly shared in many conversation with her family about her faith in God.? Kelly's family ask for prayers of peace at this time of loss.? She was loved by many and will be missed by many. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
