Katrina Jo Lawrence, 48, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. She was born on June 20, 1976, in Sedalia, MO, the daughter of the late James Earl Clark and Janet Faye Gehlken, who resides in Sedalia.
On December 11, 2021, in Calvary Baptist Church, Sedalia, MO, she was united in marriage to Glenn E. Lawrence, who resides in the home.
Katrina survived the 1977 tornado in Sedalia in her mother's arms at only ten months old. She graduated from Smith-Cotton High School in 1994. She drove a bus for OATS for many years before driving a school bus for Sedalia. After she gave up driving the bus, she became a bus monitor. Katrina adored children, especially her nephews, and great-nieces and nephew. She loved visiting with her family and friends. She had a very special relationship with her mother, and loved spending time with her, and calling her multiple times a day. She was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church. Whenever the doors were open, she was there. No matter how Katrina was feeling or what diagnosis was heard, she always had a smile on her face. She truly was an inspiration to those around her.
Besides her mom and husband, Katrina is survived by a sister, Valerie Miller (Randy) of Sedalia; a brother, Shawn Clark (Vickey) of Sedalia; two nephews, Robert Anstine (Michelle) of Blue Springs, MO, Steven Clark of Butler, MO; three great-nieces, Annabelle, Kiera, and Piper; one great-nephew, James; and her beloved dachshund, Dolly who was never just a dog.
Besides her father, Katrina was preceded in death by two nephews, Jamie Clark and Mason Clark.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Calvary Baptist Church, with pastor Johnathan Wallenbeck.
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Honorary bearers will be Mindy Lefevers, Kimberly Miller, Brandon Hammond, Steve Borum, and Jimmy Jackson.
Memorial contributions may be made to her husband in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
