Katina (Tina) Dawn Blankenship, age 63, of Sedalia, MO, was called home to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, September 5, 2021 at her home in Sedalia, MO surrounded by family. Born on February 25, 1958 in Columbus, OH, she was the first daughter of the late Clarence Blankenship and Aletta Ely. Tina was primarily a resident of Sedalia, MO for the past 20 years after returning to provide hospice care for both her mother Aletta and then her step-father Donald Ely. A 1976 graduate of Northwest High School in Hughesville, MO, Tina was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a manicurist for 35 years, including being the proprietor of Sister’s Nail Salon in Sedalia. She worked at Wal-Mart for the last two years. Survivors include her sisters, Sabrina Heaton, of Sedalia, Tamera, Dreama, and Natalie Blankenship of North Carolina, and brothers Chip (Angie) Blankenship of North Carolina, James (Kat) Deeds, of Stafford, England and David Deeds of Sedalia; nieces and nephews Amanda Martin, Rachell (Josh) Tanner, Dalles Heaton and Jennifer Heaton, of Sedalia, Darren (Sara) Heaton of Oak Grove, and Shaun Heinemann, Daron (Abby) Johnson, and Chris (Kylie) Pennell of England, as well as numerous great nephews and nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Tina was preceded in death by both parents, sisters Myrna Jo Pruett and Geneva Mae Deeds, and a nephew, Daniel Ellis Heaton. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 10th, 2021 at 11:00am at East Sedalia Baptist Church, Rev. Tim Smith Officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Full military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Air Force Honors Team and VFW Post 2591. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the East Sedalia Baptist Church in care of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
