Kathryn Irene "Kay" Hepburn, 75, of Sedalia passed away Thursday, September 1, 2016 at her home in Sedalia, MO. She was born on January 26, 1941 in Clifton City, MO the daughter of John Fayette and Letha Alta (Potter) McMullin, who preceded her in death.
On January 11, 1959 at East Sedalia Baptist Church, Sedalia, she was united in marriage to James Terrill Hepburn, who preceded her in death on February 10, 2016.
Kay was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She worked as an operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. in San Diego, CA before becoming a mother and house wife. She was the pianist at Olive Branch Baptist Church and Lamine Baptist Church for 30 years. She was proud to be the care taker for her mother and mother-in-law at the same time. Kay enjoyed flowers, planting gardens, playing the piano and especially loved spending time with her brothers, sisters, children and grandchildren.
She is survived by a son, Kevin Hepburn (Marva); a daughter Julie Young (Tim); two brothers, John McMullin and Don McMullin (Patty); four sisters, Viola Jaskolski, Mildred Walker and JoAnn Birdsong all of Sedalia and Vivian Gertson of Branson; six grandchildren, Danny, Kara (Jason), Courtney (Marc), David, Joshua (Corissa) and Jeremy; and nine great grandchildren.
Besides her husband "Buck" and parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Claude McMullin.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Ted Francis officiating.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Burial will be in Potter Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Lloyd Closser, Marty Fetterman, Dan Birdsong, Kelly Birdsong, Mitch Walker and Don Wilson.
Memorial contributions may be made to Cross Roads Hospice in care of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
