Karen Jean (Crain) Carmichael, 48, of Sedalia passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia. She was born to Clarence C. and Vivian B. (Patterson) Crain Jr. on December 16th, 1965.
She married Troy Francis Carmichael on June 25th, 2009 at the Pettis County Court House.
She is survived by her husband, Troy, of Sedalia; two sisters, Virginia and Sharon Crain, both of Springfield, MO; a niece, Ashley Crain of Sedalia; a nephew, Darrel Crain of Marshall, MO; a great-niece, Vivian Mae of Sedalia; a great-nephew, Justyn Lee Crain of Marshall, MO; an Uncle, Harvey Patterson of Sedalia; an Aunt, Margaret Patterson of Sebastopol, CA; her Mother and Father-in-Law, Blair (Pete) and Norma Forsythe of Sedalia; Sisters-in-Law, Lori Quick of Sedalia, Cindy Nance of Topeka, KS, and Susan Phol of Smithton, MO; a Brother-in-Law, Mark Shirey of Sedalia; and numerous cousins and friends.
Karen enjoyed spending time with her three dogs, Oscar, Jake, and Spike. She also loved doing many different types of crafts, riding motorcycles, camping, boating, shooting, and planting flowers and gardens.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 642.
Karen graduated from Missouri College of Cosmetology in 1984 in Springfield, MO. She worked in Sedalia at Liquor Locker, Rival, and Lamy’s Manufacturing.
A gathering of friends and family will be held at the American Legion Post 642 on Sunday, April 13th, 2014 at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
