Obituary For Julia Mae Turley
Julia Mae Turley, 88, of Sedalia, MO passed away February 21, 2021 at her home. She was born on February 13, 1933 in Arcadia, OK the daughter of William Roy and Jilta Mary (Muroney) Tennis, who preceded her in death.
On April 25, 1951 in Baton, NM, she was united in marriage to Arthur B. "Red" Turley, who preceded her in death on July 20, 2014.
Julia worked at Bothwell Regional Health Center for over 30 years before retiring in January of 2020. She enjoyed caring for others her entire life and took great pride in her family. She was always quick witted and had an interesting story to tell about her life. Not only did she care for her family and others, she was also an animal lover.
She is survived by three children, Randy W. Turley (Jo Lynn), of Lincoln, MO, Terry B. Turley, of Smithton, and Troy N. Turley, of Warrensburg; one sister, Marylou Cole of Oklahoma; ten grandchildren, Brandi Webb (Sam) of St. Augustine, FL, Andrew Turley (Brooke) of Kearney, MO, Derek Miesner (Jessica) of Wentzville, MO, Ryan Potts of Sedalia, Austin Potts of Kansas City, MO, Blake Potts of Sedalia, Evan Potts of Sedalia, Kyle Turley of Palmyra, MI, Tara Testerman of Goodman, MO, and Garrett Turley of Michigan; nine great-grandchildren, Easton, Colin, Brenna, Hudson, Owen, Payton, Mason, Carter, and Hayden.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Potts; a sister, Jane Newland; and step sister, Bonnie Ray Bowen.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2021 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tim Rehmer officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
Burial will be at Smithton Cemetery, Smithton, MO.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Turley, Ryan Potts, Austin Potts, Derek Miesner, Blake Potts, and Evan Potts.
Honorary bearers will be Kyle Turley, Garrett Turley, Brandi Webb, and Tara Testerman.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sedalia Animal Shelter or Crossroads Hospice in care of the funeral chapel.
