Obituary For Judith Lynette Tatum

Judith Lynette Tatum, 75, of Sedalia, MO passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at her home. She was born on August 12, 1945, in Clarinda, IA the daughter of Lyman Henry Meyer and Edna Elizabeth (Wischmeier) Meyer, who preceded her in death.

On November 24, 1961, in Lincoln, MO she was united in marriage to Lee Edward Tatum, who resides in the home.

Judy was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Sedalia. She was baptized on September 1, 1945, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Yorktown, IA. Judy was confirmed on June 1, 1958, at Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln, MO. She attended school in Lincoln, MO. Judy was a very caring woman. She loved children and babysat out of her home and was a foster parent to many over the years. Judy cared for her mother, grandmother, aunt and uncle in their last years of life.

Judy enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She cooked many delicious meals for family and friends. Judy enjoyed camping, playing cards, crocheting, and other crafts.

In addition to her husband she is survived by eight children, Penny Camirand (Richard), Leah Ritzo (Jim), Rebecca Manuel, E. Lee Tatum, Kenny Tatum, Unique Grimes, Bonnie Tatum, and Randy Tatum; fourteen grandchildren, Tiffany Persinger (Justin), Nick Camirand (Angie), Ashley Camirand, Payton Camirand, Shirley Camirand, Branden Tatum (Stephanie), Steven Ritzo, Josh Ritzo (Ashley), Crystal Manuel, Amanda Modayil (Ashwin), Logan Tatum, Walker Tatum, Blake Martin, and Judy Kay Tatum; and twelve great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Jay Dee Meyer; a son-in-law, Paul Manuel, and two great grandsons.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 26, 2021, at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Pastor Andrew Tessone officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church or Hospice Compassus in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
