Judi Mae Rogers

Judi Mae Sparks Rogers (66) of Sedalia, MO, passed away peacefully after a short battle with pancreatic cancer at the KC Hospice House on December 20, 2024. Judi was born on July 6, 1958, in Clinton, MO, to Harold Gene Sparks and Mary Ruth Hindes Sparks Wallace.

Judi attended all her school years in Clinton, both grade school and high school.

She began her career at Rival Manufacturing on the assembly line and worked her way up to a receiving clerk. From there, she transitioned to a scheduling position, which required her to fly to other plants for training purposes. However, she was unhappy in that role and returned to the warehouse as a receiving clerk. After Rival Manufacturing shut down in Clinton, she moved to the Sedalia Rival Warehouse, where she met her husband, Jeff. That period was the happiest time of her life. Once that warehouse closed, Judi held various jobs before taking a position as a receiving clerk at Conagra in Marshall, MO. She worked there until she retired six months early.

In addition to her husband, Judi is survived by her daughter, Wendy Hendrix (Dana); her son, Brian Hendrix (Kara); her mother, Ruth Sparks Wallace; her brother, Leonard Sparks; one granddaughter, Cheyanne Hendrix Woodward; her adopted daughter, Yanna Matiychenco; and her three fur babies, Buddy, Bently, and Taco.

In addition to her father, Judi is preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Leonard and Amy Sparks; maternal grandparents, Vollie and Dorothy Hindes; and her stepfather Donald Wallace.

A celebration of life gathering with family and friends will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025, at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, MO.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Kansas City Hospice House in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
