Joy J. Cooper Figueroa, 55, of Cole Camp passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. She was born on December 4, 1960 in Casper, Wyoming the daughter of James Franklin Cooper Sr. who preceded her in death and Carol June (Allee) Frontera, who survives in Sedalia.
Joy worked at Regal Manufacturing as the Human Resource Manager in Lincoln, MO. She was a 1979 graduate of Otterville High School. She enjoyed her job and loved to work. She was a avid reader and loved reading all genres. She was an avid pro football fan, especially enjoying the Dallas Cowboys.
Besides her mother, she is survived by two daughters, Victoria Babcock (Michael) of Lincoln, MO and Elizabeth Pilkey of Cole Camp; a son William Figueroa of Cole Camp; a sister, Tamara Thomas (Ronald) Syracuse, MO; a brother Jim Cooper of Sedalia; a grandson Michael Babcock, Jr. (known to her as Pooter) of Lincoln, MO. and a grand daughter on the way, Elena Babcock.
Besides her father, she was preceded in death by a sister Carol Cooper; maternal and paternal grandparents.
A celebration of life gathering of family and friends will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Saturday August 13, 2016 at Rea Funeral Chapel.
