Joseph Howe III, 85, of Sedalia passed away April 12, 2016 at his home in Sedalia, Missouri. He was born on December 3, 1930 at Kansas City, Missouri the son of Pete Magelssen and Ruth Byerley, who preceded him in death.
On September 29, 2001 in Sedalia, he was united in marriage to Terry Furnell , who survives of the home.
Joe was a Sargent in the Wichita, KS police department in K-9 unit. He graduated from Ozark Bible College in Joplin, MO and became a Minister in the Christian Church. After retirement from the ministry, he became a hearing instrument specialist. He was a member of the national board of the American Lung Association for many years, and served as president of the Wichita Garden Club. Joe loved carpentry and doing fret saw wood working. Later in life, after his marriage to Terry, he joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where served as a Sunday school teacher.
Besides his wife Terry, he is survived by two daughters, Linda Bradley and her husband Kenny, Kris Young and her husband Jerry; a step son, Matthew Pospisil and his wife Becky all of Sedalia; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jenny Danell; a daughter Ruthie Brennaman and a great granddaughter Elizabeth Dayle Brennaman.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2016 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Bishop Anthony Beard officiating.
The family will received friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Highland Sacred Gardens, Sedalia.
Pallbearers will be Tony, Jeremy and Kenny Bradley, Jerry and Allen Young, and Matthew Pospisil.
Memorial contributions may be made to the LDS Church Family History Center of Sedalia.
