Obituary For Johnna McLanahan

Johnna Alfreda Lander McLanahan, 55, of Smithton, MO, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Four Season Living Center, Sedalia. She was born on March 18, 1961 in South Hampton, New York, the daughter of John Lander Brown, who preceded her in death, and Vicky Ann Wells Reynolds, who survives of Smithton.

She was united in marriage to Marvin McLanahan, who preceded her in death.

Johnna enjoyed going to the races, drawing, arts and crafts, and collecting wolves. She also enjoyed going to the lake and to her friend Eddie's house. She served her country honorably in the United States Army through the Gulf War.

Besides her mother Vicki Reynolds, she is survived by two sons, Patrick Brown (Felicia) of Smithton, and Jay Brown (DeAnna) of Warrensburg; a daughter, Elizabeth Brown of Warsaw; her long time companion, Robert Bishop of Smithton; a stepdaughter, Pam Clark (Gene) of Independence, MO; a brother, Bud A. Brown (Sue) of Allen Park, MI; nine grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, with Rev. Randy Geyer officiating. Full military honors will be conduced by VFW Post #2591 and the Warrensburg Army National Guard Mike Team.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.

Pallbearers will be Patrick Brown, Luke Brown, Bud Brown, Jay Brown, David Arl, and Benjamin Arl.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
