Obituary For Joanne McDaniel

Joanne Shirley (Heck) McDaniel, 71, of Sedalia, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia. She was born on March 21, 1945 in Santa Barbara, CA, the daughter of Harry LeRoy and Elaine Louise (Trutt) Heck, who preceded her in death.

On June 15, 1964 in Redwood City, CA, she was united in marriage to Leland L. McDaniel, Jr., who resides of the home. From this union of 52 years they were blessed with the gift of two daughters, Michelle and Christine.

Her family and grandchildren were the loves of her life. She enjoyed doing for others, surprising people with her homemade gifts "just because". Joanne loved to travel and visit new places. She was a "crafting hummingbird", always looking for new craft adventures. She owned a craft business with her husband, Leland, called She & I Woodworks and More. She loved being outdoors and working in her yard. Fishing was one of her favorite pastimes. She cherished her Parkview Christian Church family.

Besides her husband, Leland, she is also survived by two daughters, Michelle L. Statler (Jeff) and Christine S. Brown (Rob), all of Sedalia; six grandchildren, Cherokee Bell (Allen) of Grain Valley, MO, Robbie Brown, Cheyenne Statler, Jake Brown, Levi Statler, and Bailey Brown, all of Sedalia; a great grandson, Conner Bell; two sisters, Elizabeth Greene (Raymond) State of California, and Rusty Ann Woody (Roger) State of Virginia.

Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Harry LeRoy Heck, Jr.; and a sister, Rita Marie Hunt.

A memorial and celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Parkview Christian Church with Pastor Rodney Brown officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will be in Providence Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Show-Me-Christian Youth Home, LaMonte in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
