Obituary For Joann Marie Keele

Joann Marie (Clark) Keele, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia. She was born on November 1, 1947 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Samuel William Clark and Dorothy Kathrine (Rainwater) Clark, who preceded her in death.

Joann was a retired Methodist minister after serving for 10 years at New Bethel, Pleasant Hill and Otterville. She earned a Doctor of Dwenity Degree in 2018, United Methodist Churches. Joann loved serving her Lord by pastoring and serving elsewhere in the church. Joann loved to cook and bake, collect books and read. She played piano and loved operas and classical music. Joann had a love for animals especially her dog Molly and her cat Moses.

She is survived by her ex-husband Roy Keele; three children, Kevin Lee McCown of Labadie, MO, Shannon Marie McCown of Sedalia, and Marty Lynn McCown of Sedalia, MO; five grandchildren, Sam McCown, Ian McCown, Matthew Lipper, Korbin McCown, Nikki McCown, and Robert Healy; two great grandsons, Easton McCown and Landon Lipper; and one sister, Ruth Y. Philip of Cleburne, TX.

A Celebration of Life gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, October 11, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mid-MO Human Society of Sedalia. The family requests that no flowers be sent.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.

    I am so sorry to hear of Joann's passing but know she is with her Savior. We were best of friends in our school years and had kept in contact over Facebook. She will be missed! Love & prayers to all the family.
