Obituary For Jesse Blankenship

Jesse Thomas "JT" Blankenship, 84, of Sedalia, MO passed away Friday, December 1, 2017 at Fair View Nursing Home in Sedalia. He was born on October 20, 1933 in Sedalia, the son of Ruben and Hazel (Fair) Blankenship, who preceded him in death.

On February 14, 1979 he was united in marriage to Sharon Arvieux, who survives of the home.

He worked for Santa Fe Railroad for 55 years before he started J&S Trailer in Kansas City, KS. Jesse enjoyed watching birds, deer and wild turkey. He was an avid coin collector and member of the Sedalia Coin Club and the Pettis County Democrat Club.

Besides his wife Sharon, survivors include five children, Thomas "Tom" Blankenship (Melissa) of Wichita, KS, Karen "Susie" Case (Steve) of Dubuque, IA, Pam Schrant (Terry) of Wichita, KS, Sherry Struble (Mike) of Anthony, KS, and Cynthia "Cindy" Sinnett (John) of Kansas City, MO; his step-sister, Anita Bunch of Sedalia; a step-brother Roger Grinstead of Oregon; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and his special friends, Cindy McKeon and Tina Milburn.

He was preceded in death by his brother Ruben Blankenship, Jr, his sister Ruth Hicky, his step-father Mike Grinstead, his nephew Butch Blankenship, and his niece Vicki Blankenship.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, MO with Rev. Dan Hankins, officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the chapel.

Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery, Sedalia, MO.

Pallbearers will be Paul Young, Rick Robertson, Brad Blankenship, Mike Blankenship, Shawn Blankenship, and Rick McKeon.

Honorary bearers will be Morgan and Nick McKeon, Jr. Jefferies, Paulie Ford, Wes Keele, and Larry Grinstead.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or Crossroads Hospice in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
