Obituary For Jeanette Curtis Moore

Jeanette Curtis Moore, 85, of Sedalia, MO passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at her home. She was born on May 19, 1936, in LaMonte, MO the daughter of John Henry and Lois (Ward) Curtis who preceded her in death.

On August 29, 1954, in Sedalia she was united in marriage to Charles W. Moore, who preceded her in death on July 27, 2014. Jeanette grew up in the LaMonte area. She graduated from LaMonte High School and Panhandle State College in Goodwell OK and taught school in western Kansas for 30 years. She enjoyed substituting in the Sedalia schools for seven years and especially enjoyed volunteering at Heber Hunt. She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church. She loved the children of the church. She taught Sunday School, Mission Friends, Vacation Bible School and helped with mission trips and Shoebox Ministry. She rejoiced in her relationship with her Lord. Jeanette also liked growing plants and flowers, fishing, walking, sewing, and baking pies. She loved her family, friends, and Jesus.

She is survived by her son Paul Moore of Dodge City, KS two sisters; Jane Harrison and Ann Crum; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Besides her husband, Jeanette was preceded in death by her son, Charles Moore Jr; five brothers; Cecil Curtis, Ray Curtis, Jay Curtis, Jerry Curtis, and Tom Curtis and three sisters; Dorothy Hefner, Marjorie Williams and Valinda Clifford.

A Memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, October 18, 2021, at Rea Funeral Chapel with Pastor Don Satterwhite officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

Honorary bearers will be Jim Harrison, Mark Harrison, Mike Crum, Danny Crum, Ed Hancock, and Mike Creamer.

Memorial contributions may be made to Union Cemetery Association in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
