Jason Keith Rowlette, 46, of Lee's Summit, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2023, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was born on November 11, 1976, in Sedalia, the son of William Edward Rowlette Jr., who preceded him in death, and Alma Jean McFail, who resides in Otterville.
On March 11, 2000, in Sedalia, MO, he was united in marriage to Holly Martin, who resides in the home.
Jason graduated from Smithton High School in 1995. He worked for Coca-Cola and Heart of America Distributing in Sedalia. Jason currently worked for Spire Gas as an A.M.R Service Man in Lee's Summit. He recently celebrated his 20 years of service. Jason was a member of United Steel Workers Local #12561.
Jason loved his kids more than anything and could not be more proud of each and every accomplishment. He reminded them often that even though they were adults, he couldn't "turn off" being a dad. Jason loved music and concerts. He and Holly often traveled to see his favorite bands. Jason had his little Yorkies LIV and Ziva that followed him everywhere and were always the first to greet him at the door when he got home from work. He loved his Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. Jason enjoyed smoking meat, cooking on his Blackstone, and feeding everyone, including friends, family, and neighbors. In the past few years, Jason took up running and ran 4-6 miles a day. He was known at the gym as "long hair Jason." Jason's favorite days of the year were the day he opened the family pool and Halloween. Jason attended trivia night on Monday nights with family and friends. The trivia team name was "Goonies Never Say Die." He never knew a stranger and would go out of his way to help anyone who needed a hand or just a chat over a beer.
In addition to his wife and mother, Jason is survived by two children, Cade Rowlette, and Lyndsay Rowlette, both of Lee's Summit, MO; three siblings, Samantha Lang (Fred) of Cole Camp, MO, Corey Rowlette of Sedalia, MO, Andrew Rowlette (Crystal) of Abilene, TX; step-mother, Kim Rowlette, of Lee's Summit, MO; two nieces and three nephews.
A celebration of life gathering with family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 4, 2023, at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia. The family requests all guests wear KC Chiefs and Royals attire.
Honorary bearers will be Cade Rowlette, Andy Rowlette, Jerry Young, Ted Vail, Mike Tucker, Chuck Cooper, Cylan Burns, Landon Lang, and Tanner Lang.
