Obituary For Janice Ruth Kell
Janice Ruth Kell, 79, of Sedalia, MO passed away Thursday, April 8, 2021, at Bothwell Regional Health Center. She was born on January 4, 1942 in California, MO the daughter of Luther F. Scott and Melba E. (Leonard) Scott, who preceded her in death.
On June 12, 1959, in California, MO she was united in marriage to Wayne Lorenz, who preceded her in death. In 1987, in Sedalia, she was united in marriage to Mack Kell, who preceded her in death.
Ruth was a member of First Baptist Church, Sedalia and active member of the Gleaners Sunday School Class. She worked for the Sedalia School District #200 as the Secretary at Horace Mann and Heber Hunt Elementary. After retiring she kept busy in her past time working at the Salvation Army Store and at Elm Hills Golf Course. Ruth enjoyed being outside working in her flower and vegetable gardens, going shopping and racing the golf carts at Elm Hills with Nancy. Ruth was a member of the Sedalia Moose Lodge #1494. She especially loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great granddaughter.
Survivors include two daughters, Terry Anderson (Uthel Griffitt) of Marshall, and Janice Scheel (Wolfgang) of Sedalia; four grandchildren, Justin (Sarah), Brian (Courtney), Jessica (Nick), and Tierce; four great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter; one brother, Gary Scott (Gay) of Charleston, IL; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her husbands and parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, L.D. Scott and James F. Scott.
A Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jeremiah Greever officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 12, 2021 at the chapel.
Burial will be at Flag Spring Cemetery, California, MO.
Pallbearers will be Tierce Scheel, Justin Anderson, Brian Anderson, Karry Scott, Wolfgang Scheel, and Wayne Rex.
Honorary bearers will be Shea Anderson, Austyn Anderson, Nancy Evans and Diane Elgin.
Memorial contributions may be made to Flag Spring Cemetery in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
